Special Delivery
I absolutely LOVED this book! I honestly couldn't put it down.
Special Delivery gave me all the feels. It had everything I love and need in a good romance: great characters, off the charts chemistry, and laugh out loud moments.
Poppy and James are the perfect main characters. They're both fiery, funny, and charismatic. They have fantastic chemistry and hilarious banter.
I really liked the supporting characters too, especially Poppy's mum Chrissy, her bestie Dani, her neighbour Mary, and her old friend Henry.
This is the first book I've read from Leesa Ronald, but it definitely won't be the last. I'll be impatiently waiting for her next book.
I very highly recommend.

Happy Publication Week to the laugh out loud debut rom-com from Aussie author Leesa Ronald. I flew through this book laughing hysterically and nodding my head in understanding at some of the incredibly relatable parenting mishaps. I also shed a few tears at a couple of points, so it’s a book that evokes all the emotions. It’s an absolute standout for me and probably my rom-com of the year.
Poppy is single, jobless and pregnant when she moves back to her hometown of Orange. With an ex-partner who won’t even answer her calls and her best friend hundreds of kilometres away, she’s feeling pretty vulnerable. When she has a not so meet cute in the hospital car park over a parents with prams parking space, she’s feeling like she can’t get the guy out of her head, even though he made her furious. What follows is a hilarious story full of complicated feelings and heartwarming moments as Poppy begins to build a life for herself and her baby amid constant accidental meet ups with her nemesis.
I adored this book! It was the perfect enemies to lovers rom-com with top notch banter, the perfect amount of spice, fabulous friendships, a hilarious and incredibly loving mum and sizzling chemistry.
I found so many scenes absolutely relatable and could not stop laughing at some of Poppy’s misadventures. I laughed, cried and shouted at the pages. I also had that wonderful joyous feeling as I turned the final pages and when I finished I just wanted to give this book a big hug.
Special Delivery is the perfect holiday read,
especially for the mums among us.

A fun, enemies-to-lovers rom-com story, set in a small-town in Australia.
Life circumstances force thirty-year-old Poppy to return to her hometown of Orange in country New South Wales - newly single, unemployed and pregnant. Her best friend now lives hundreds of kilometres away, and her ex-partner of nine years is refusing to answer her calls.
Poppy ends up alone in labour, supported by nobody other than James, her gorgeous-yet-annoying midwife. As she navigates early parenthood, particularly as a single mother, she has no idea where to turn for help...
I enjoyed the realistic and relatable depiction of late pregnancy and the first year of parenthood, the brilliant banter that had me laughing out loud, and the interesting cast of supporting characters.
I was able to access the audiobook, which is narrated beautifully by Melanie Gleeson.
This is a fantastic, feel-good story and a brilliant debut! I am excited to read what Leesa Ronald writes in future.

Power Moves
This book is the palate cleanser I so desperately needed! I absolutely adored @leesaronaldwrites previous novel Special Delivery, it was equal parts adorable and humorous!
Power Moves is set in the chaotic world of politics and media. Our FMC Camilla is an anal retentive workaholic, she is the type of person who would never have a hair or comma out of place. Camilla is deflecting and throwing herself into work since the loss of her mother.
I could empathise with the character on a deep level through the loss of my own mum, and avoiding dealing with my own trauma (oops

“Our banter is possibly world leading.”
This is one of those books that makes you smile a lot with it’s heartfelt, wholesome moments.
The banter is perfect, not cringe, just exceptional. The quote above is 100% true!
Hardworking Millsy stressed me out a bit. She puts so many hours in her days working, she doesn’t have time for family and friends and it’s sometimes hard to read! Putting her selfish jerk of a boss first and her job meant she was missing out on so many things in her personal life.
But Archie. Oh Archie
The kindest, most supportive guy, I loved him!! He made this book the amazing book it was. I loved the sibling love and the dad too!
The twist was perfect and the ending was great, although I wanted more, I didn’t want it to end.
This is a fabulous book, I knew I was going to love it! Leesa Ronald makes you feel all the feels. Highly recommend!

In January I read Special Delivery by Leesa Ronald, which I loved. Now in December I have just finished her next offering, Power Moves, which is equally as good! Very impressive!! Two great books in one year!!
Whilst this is laugh out loud funny, has great banter, a strong female lead and a charismatic nemesis/love interest - it also explores how far you will go to prove yourself and get ahead in the workplace and what you will put up with to achieve it.
Millsy, a workaholic is prepared to do anything to help her boss win the election - razor focussed on this at the expense of everything in her life. She has worked hard and believes she deserves success whereas, in her eyes, her nemesis Archie has achieved his success because of his gender, class and sporting prowess. There is intense rivalry between the two….but also plenty of chemistry! How this all plays out was fun to read! I also enjoyed the relationship she had with her family.
It is a very relatable, witty and satisfying read!

In case you missed it, Leesa Ronald has unlocked a new era of rom-com… and I’m here for it! 🩷
‘Power Moves’ is a laugh-out-loud, rivals-to-lovers romance set in the surprisingly sexy setting that is Australian politics.
Camilla is a media advisor to the NSW education minister, caught up in the early chaos of an election campaign - and Archie is a journalist employed to report on it.
Professionally, the pair are not meant to get along - and for some time, some would argue they don’t. But as often happens when you’re forced into close proximity with someone you flirt with as much as you fight with, the lines eventually begin to blur.
Without spoiling the story, what follows is a wildly entertaining ride filled with the utmost wit. While the world of politics would normally bore me to tears, the back-and-forth banter and chemistry between these two kept me completely hooked!
I had just as much fun with this as I did ‘Special Delivery’, and couldn’t recommend either more.
