Anyone here bought overseas while still working full time back home?
The mortgage here is what it is, and the idea of ever getting ahead of it has quietly gone out the window, so a friend's suggestion of buying something smaller overseas instead of upgrading here has stuck with me longer than it should have. His argument is that the rent covers the costs and you get somewhere to go for a month or two a year. Mine is that I would be managing a place I cannot drive to. For those of you who have actually done it: how much of a headache is the distance in practice, and did you use an agency at the other end or handle it yourself? I have been going through https://global-property.investments/ to get a sense of what is realistic on that kind of budget.
